I’ll hold that to you, so if you stand me up..”She teased, winked over top her glass as she went to take another sip.

“Oh, I remembebr.” Winter laughed, taking a sip outof her glass before she glanced around the room. “It was probably one of the most fun nights I’ve had here at the Academy. Flint, Lachlan and you are the best in my books.” Although Winter got along with other teachers jsut as well, she prefered Flint, Burton and Lachlan. Race was alright, she supposed, but he seemed a little dark. Not that she really had a problem with him.
“Oi, no leaving out Derry!” he laughs - the pair of them had spent the last ball standing at the free bar, trying their charms on anyone who passed them by. Burton leans back again and takes in Winter’s appearance; he can’t deny she’s beautiful, even though she’s dressed down as Christmas is approaching. The dimmed lights catch her face in the softest way, and make her eyes sparkle. He coughs slightly and puts his drink down; he can’t get too drunk yet. “So… many plans over Christmas then? Are you going back to spend time with family or…?”
”How could I forget Derry?” She laughed. She she thought about it, all of the Teachers where her friends. However, she didn’t have a best friend, but she did have crushes. Not that it all mattered. She hadn’t had a relationship in so long, how could she tell what was real? Winter stared at Burton was he looked at her, as if he were examining her. She didn’t complain, however and sat back, taking another sip of her wine. “No, sadly I’ve decided to stay here.”
“Oh, you’re staying? There’s a small number of us here - my roommate India, she’s going back to see her parents over the holidays.” Burton misses seeing the staff around the grounds day to day; of course there’s the students to interact with, but he still enjoys the company of older members of staff, where his more flirtatious and extrovert nature can come out to play for a while. Winter takes another sip of her drink, and the slight shimmer of wine left over lies on his lips. He can’t help but stammer slightly. “I was wondering whether we should do something together over the holidays - of course, there’s the Ball to think about, but we could always try and enjoy the rest of Christmas together…”
Winter smiled slightly as he spoke. She could already tell by how he’d began, and how he’d looked at her what he was trying to say. Her only response, at first, was a nod. “That sounds amazing, actually. I’m up for whatever it is you are.” Winter couldn’t help herself, however, and leaned across to kiss his cheek lightly. She’d always had that little flirtatiousness in her when it came to the male teachers. However, she didn’t pin point her emotions on it. One thing with him couldn’t win her feelings over so quickly.
